Ageing is a complex process which can be characterized by wrinkling, loss of elasticity with loosening of skin and the texture of the skin become rough and dull. The process of ageing is governed by various mechanisms and factors such as UV radiation, environmental pollution, stress, diet, hormones, genetic predisposition etc. In the past few years researchers have discovered various approaches to reduce the signs and symptoms of skin ageing and the strategies to reverse the skin ageing process. Few of the treatment approaches are ablative and non ablative lasers, topical antioxidants, hormonal therapy, chemical peels and other diverse methods. With the development of nanotechnology the interest of the researchers have shifted towards discovering nanocarriers which have the potential to deliver active compounds topically to the skin more efficiently and effectively. Nowadays market is flooded with numerous anti- ageing products but the nanocarriers such as nanogel, liposomes, nanoemulsions, solid lipid nanoparticles etc. are preferred due to their exceptional properties such as high water imbibing capacity, controlled and uninterrupted release of the constituents, incorporation of both lipophilic and hydrophilic actives and other such attributes. In this review the description of the process of ageing and its molecular mechanism is been described along with the approaches which are currently available for the treatment of ageing and the nanocarriers in which the actives can be enclosed as well as regulatory aspects of such nanocarriers which can be used for the efficient delivery of active compounds are discussed in detail....
The in-situ gel framework has developed as outstanding novel drug delivery systems; it can be utilized for sustained and controlled release of the drugs having its own special characteristic feature of ‘Sol to Gel’ transition. In the in-situ gel system formulation is mostly available in the solution form before enter into body but it will change into gel form also depending on the physiological changes. There are some polymer used in-situ gel system and same polymer also used in other novel drug delivery system also. This review mainly focus on introduction of in-situ gel system, its mechanism, different polymer used in this system, important evaluation parameter and it also focuses on the pharmaceutical applications of in-situ gel related with novel drug delivery systems....
